Biography/Artist Statement:

I grew up in Springfield, MN where I began to be exposed to the arts, mostly through my family.  From 1997-2001 I studied and received a bachelors degree in studio art at the U of M-Duluth, with a focus in painting and photography.  In 2002 I moved into Washington Studios to pursue a career in art.  Soon after, I became aware of the difficulty making a living in the art making field, and I decided to follow my other passion in life. I began working in the fishing industry in 2003 out of Sitka, Alaska, where I still work each Summer.  The remainder of the year I spend at Washington Studios creating and exhibiting abstract, environmentally-based paintings/artwork.
