Biography/Artist Statement:
Jes Durfee creates functional and sculptural art such as beads, animal
totems, variations on plant life, and abstract art about he mysterious
great galaxy. His influences are based on elements of the natural world as
they relate to himself and his Ojibwa heritage.
Jes has exhibited and given glassblowing demonstrations at local and
regional music and art festivals, selling his artwork at many local
galleries and gift shops. He has traveled the world observing and studying
glassblowing in California; Arizona; Kansas; New York; the Netherlands;
Murano, Italy; Estonia; Jamaica; Australia; the Hawaiian Islands; and
Japan, developing his personal style as a glass artist.
